Java Automation integration

The Java Automation package (Robomotion.JavaAutomation, v2.2.3) adds 42 nodes to Robomotion flows, including Activate Hyperlink, Click Coordinate and Click Element.

It runs on Windows robots.

What the Java Automation package does

Java Access Bridge is a technology that exposes the Java Accessibility API in a Microsoft Windows DLL, enabling Java applications and applets that implement the Java Accessibility API to be visible to assistive technologies on Microsoft Windows systems.

Automates Java desktop applications (Swing / AWT) on Windows through the Java Access Bridge: clicks (left, right, double, middle), typing, keys, combo boxes, lists, tabs, menus and popup menus, trees, tables (select a row, read cells, extract a whole table as a Robomotion Data Table), spinners and sliders, check boxes, hyperlinks, waits for elements, values and windows, reading the items of lists, combos and menus, listing Java windows, closing windows (answering a "save changes?" question). Windows-only; no authentication.

Platforms

The Java Automation package runs on Windows robots. It is Windows-only: a flow that uses it builds anywhere but fails at run time on a Linux or macOS robot, so schedule it on a Windows robot.

How to install the Java Automation package

  1. Open Packages in the Robomotion Flow Designer.
  2. Search for Java Automation or Robomotion.JavaAutomation, then click Install on its card.
  3. The Java Automation nodes appear in the node palette for everyone in the workspace, because installation is per workspace.

From a terminal, the Robomotion CLI installs the same package:

robomotion install Robomotion.JavaAutomation

Templates that use Java Automation

One ready-made template uses Java Automation nodes in their flows. Open one to start from a working flow.
