Build interactive AI chat assistants with rich UI widgets. Supports two modes: guided (step-by-step workflows with interactive form widgets like buttons, dropdowns, checkboxes, radio buttons, textboxes, datepickers, file upload/download) and conversational (free-form chat with payload-based messaging). Display content via text (Markdown), headers, images, video, streaming text for real-time AI responses, progress indicators, custom React widgets, dividers, and error messages. Communicates with chat clients over WebSocket. No credentials required - uses Robomotion instance access for authentication and file artifact management.

Chat Assistant nodes (21)

These are the node IDs an agentic flow or an RPA bot uses, exactly as they appear in the Flow Designer and in flow code. A trigger node has no input port and starts the flow when its event arrives.

Platforms

The Chat Assistant package runs on Windows, macOS and Linux robots. Any Robomotion robot on these operating systems can run a flow that uses it.

How to install the Chat Assistant package

1. Open Packages in the Robomotion Flow Designer.
2. Search for Chat Assistant or Robomotion.ChatAssistant, then click Install on its card.
3. The Chat Assistant nodes appear in the node palette for everyone in the workspace, because installation is per workspace.

From a terminal, the Robomotion CLI installs the same package:

robomotion install Robomotion.ChatAssistant

  A conversational chat assistant that takes a return in whatever order the customer explains it. An LLM Agent asks for whatever is missing, and an ordinary automation wired to its tools port looks the order up mid conversation and hands the answer back.

• Guided Returns Desk

  A guided chat assistant that opens a product return, one question at a time. Uses Chat Assistant widget nodes for the questions, checks the order number while the customer is still in the conversation, and loops back to the question when it does not recognise one instead of throwing an exception.

• Calorie Coach Agent

  A personal nutrition tracking assistant powered by Chat Assistant and LLM Agent nodes. Uses a SQLite database to log meals, manage user profiles, and track daily calorie and macro goals through a natural conversational interface with support for photo-based food logging.

• Generic Chat Assistant

  A ready-to-use conversational AI template powered by Chat Assistant and LLM Agent nodes. Provides a simple chat interface where users can ask questions and receive answers from a large language model, with support for file attachments and graceful error handling.
