Mime Tools integration

The Mime Tools package (Robomotion.MimeTools, v0.3.0) adds 3 nodes to Robomotion flows, including Extract Attachments and Detect File.

It runs on Windows, macOS and Linux robots. For AI agents, 2 of its nodes work as tools, and its Toolkit node exposes 3 tools at once.

What the Mime Tools package does

Used for encoding and decoding MIME (Multipurpose Internet Mail Extensions - RFC1521) formatted files

Provides MIME content-type detection and EML email attachment extraction. Detect File identifies the MIME type of any file by inspecting its content bytes (magic bytes), supporting formats like text/plain, image/png, application/pdf, application/zip, etc. Extract Attachments parses RFC 1521 MIME-formatted EML email files and saves embedded attachments to a specified directory (defaults to temp directory), with built-in path traversal protection on filenames. No authentication required.

Mime Tools nodes (3)

These are the node IDs an agentic flow or an RPA bot uses, exactly as they appear in the Flow Designer and in flow code. An agent tool node can also be called by an AI agent on its own. The Toolkit node hands an agent several of the package operations at once.

Platforms

The Mime Tools package runs on Windows, macOS and Linux robots. Any Robomotion robot on these operating systems can run a flow that uses it.

How to install the Mime Tools package

  1. Open Packages in the Robomotion Flow Designer.
  2. Search for Mime Tools or Robomotion.MimeTools, then click Install on its card.
  3. The Mime Tools nodes appear in the node palette for everyone in the workspace, because installation is per workspace.

From a terminal, the Robomotion CLI installs the same package:

robomotion install Robomotion.MimeTools
