Document Understanding integration

The Document Understanding package (Robomotion.DocumentUnderstanding, v0.2.0) adds 8 nodes to Robomotion flows, including Process Document, Digitize and Classify.

It runs on Windows, macOS and Linux robots.

What the Document Understanding package does

Read documents with your Document Understanding projects: digitize, classify and extract fields and tables, send uncertain documents to human review and export the results.

Reads PDFs and images with a Document Understanding project (built in the Designer's Document Understanding view): digitizes the text, splits a file into documents and classifies them, extracts the project's fields and tables, checks its validation rules and says when a person should look at the result. Documents run on a DU machine (an agent with Document Understanding enabled): on the same host through the local agent directly, otherwise through the workspace job queue. Uncertain results go to a review task a person validates in the Designer; the flow waits for it or polls it. Export turns a result into tables for Excel, CSV or a database. No credential is needed: the nodes use the robot's own workspace token.

Platforms

The Document Understanding package runs on Windows, macOS and Linux robots. Any Robomotion robot on these operating systems can run a flow that uses it.

How to install the Document Understanding package

  1. Open Packages in the Robomotion Flow Designer.
  2. Search for Document Understanding or Robomotion.DocumentUnderstanding, then click Install on its card.
  3. The Document Understanding nodes appear in the node palette for everyone in the workspace, because installation is per workspace.

From a terminal, the Robomotion CLI installs the same package:

robomotion install Robomotion.DocumentUnderstanding
